SCOTIA FUTURE COMMENTS ON RESIGNATION OF RICHARD LEONARD AND SAYS SCOTTISH LABOUR VOTERS WILL FIND A SOUND HOME WITH THEM
Cllr Andy Doig, the Nominating Officer for Scotia Future, which stands for real independence and a Scotland of Equals, has commented on the resignation of Scottish Labour Leader, Richard Leonard MSP, and said that disillusioned Labour voters will find a sound home with Scotia Future, a party that does not just want to change flags, but to change society. Cllr Doig said:
“I have never met Mr Leonard although he lives in Renfrewshire, but he always seemed to be a sincere person who obviously was passionate about many of the key issues that affect ordinary people, such as his championing of a national care service in Holyrood. On behalf of Scotia Future, and speaking personally, I wish Richard Leonard all the very best for the future”.
“Both Richard Leonard’s’ Labour Party and Nicola Sturgeon’s SNP are deeply riven by political and personal rivalry and feuds, and the voting public often takes the view that a house divided shall not stand. Whether Mr Leonard went of his own will or was pushed remains to be seen but what is clear is that disillusioned Scottish Labour voters will find a sound political home in Scotia Future.”
“At the Scottish elections this year Scotia Future will, as a Co-Operative Party which believes in a Scotland of Equals, be making a strong appeal to Labour voters to give us their support as a party which does not just want to change flags but to change society. For example, only one of our policies is that we want a living wage for social care workers equivalent to NHS staff.”
“Sir Keir Starmer’s only policy as UK Labour Leader seems to be “I agree with Boris”, on everything from Brexit to national security, but Scottish voters deserve better than that, and an SNP who would drag Scotland back into a dysfunctional and undemocratic EU and consign Scots to a decade of austerity through their failed policy of sterlingisation. Only Scotia Future will move Scotland forward”.
